About Tolstoy Dacha

Tolstoy Dacha makes beautiful, useful pieces designed for everyday life. The dacha is not an aesthetic but a way of living: practical, self-sufficient, attentive to craft. Objects are chosen for their purpose rather than for display. They are repaired, layered, and passed on.

Tolstoy Dacha draws on that inheritance – English restraint alongside Russian depth – where simplicity is valued and materials are expected to endure. Pattern is shaped by landscape and use. Nothing exists purely for decoration.

Each object is made in small quantities, in collaboration with skilled makers. The emphasis is on longevity: pieces that soften with time and become more settled through use.

Tolstoy Dacha was founded by Alexandra Tolstoy, as an extension of a life lived between England and Central Asia, where craftsmanship remains rooted in daily life.
